A Weekend Warriors Sailing Series Event
Two-Day Catamaran or Monohull Docking Refresher Course
For Experienced Sailors Seeking Ultimate Docking Confidence and Skills
This two-day weekend advanced course is for sailors who have cruising experience and hold US Sailing Bareboat Cruising or equivalent certification, obtained within the past five years. The Catamaran or Monohull Docking Refresher course is designed to provide ultimate confidence while docking a large cruising vessel with proficient ease in various wind conditions. To participate you must have earned US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification or have equivalent certification obtained within the past five years.
Live Aboard Certification & Sailing Resume Required
The Catamaran or Monohull Weekend Docking Refresher is not for beginners. Prior knowledge and skills should include the ability to confidently sail and maneuver 40’-50’ yachts. You should be at ease steering, handling lines, and navigating a 40′ or larger cruising sailboat in light and heavy wind and sea conditions. The Offshore Sailing School Live Aboard Cruising Course or equivalent experience is a pre-requisite, and a Sailing Resume with proof of experience aboard big cruising yachts, including how frequently and recently you have sailed, must be submitted for review and approval before enrolling in this course.
Monohull or Catamaran? Your Choice!
This special weekend docking course is available at Offshore Sailing School’s SW Florida locations on 44′-47′ monohulls and 40′-45′ catamarans. If you are transitioning from a monohull to a catamaran, planning to charter or buy a catamaran, or join friends who own or charter catamarans – this is a great way to experience and learn those special nuances that come with docking a catamaran. If you are a catamaran sailor who wants to experience the excitement that comes with sailing and docking a big monohull in all kinds of conditions, or have only sailed monohulls and want to expand and improve your docking skills – this weekend adventure will definitely fit your bill!
