Please try to be flexible with your dates, especially if you are a single traveling alone. We cannot open a boat unless we have at least two people ready to sign up. And we don’t teach more than four people at a time in our Live Aboard Cruising courses, unless you are a family (of up to six) who want to learn together. We call that our “Buy the Boat Option” and welcome your inquiries if that suits your desires. The BVI Pioneer Package savings of 10% is booked on a space available basis for courses that end by December 15, 2018.
A Monumental Effort by Charter Companies and the BVI Community
British Virgin Islands Locals are Planting Palms All Over the Islands
All of the charter companies, the locally owned restaurants, and resorts have worked feverishly to bring the islands back to norm. The waters are absolutely gorgeous, and cruisers are having a blast as they sail the islands. Supermarkets and most restaurants are open on Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke (including Foxy’s and the Soggy Dollar Bar). And we just learned the infamous Willy T floating barge has a new home in Peter Island’s Great Harbour. Our instructors will make sure you get to some of these hot spots. Have fun!
Funds Raised to Support Those Who Live and Work in the British Virgin Islands

We thank the many friends and family who donated to the fund we set up for our BVI employees who suffered losses. Thanks also go to those who booked courses with Offshore Sailing School in September and October 2017, as our company provided another contribution to our Employee Relief Fund from your enrollments. We are humbled and thankful for so many wonderful #CaribbeanComeback efforts, including the BVI Tourism Board’s efforts to support its residents and critical rebuilding efforts through its BVI Recovery Fund. And The Moorings, Sunsail and Scrub Island Resort have also raised funds for their employees through #CaribbeanComeback with a collective goal of $200,000.
How to Get There
The easiest way if you are taking a course with us at Scrub Island Resort is to fly into the airport on Beef Island (EIS), which is a 5-minute taxi ride to the Scrub Island ferry dock. You can also fly into St. Thomas and take the Fast Ferry to Road Town, Tortola, BVI. If you are taking a Live Aboard Cruising course this will likely start from The Moorings base on Tortola, about a half-hour taxi ride from the EIS airport, and short ride from the ferry dock in Road Town.
